The laser instantly emits high energy, effectively breaking up the pigment in the target tissue.
The pigment rapidly shatters when heated. The superficial pigment is shed naturally, while deeper pigmentation breaks into fine granules that the body gradually metabolizes and clears.
The laser energy is strongly absorbed by melanin and hemoglobin, while the surrounding normal skin tissue is largely unaffected because it does not absorb laser light at this specific wavelength.
